See the many scarecrows lining Main Street in both Salisbury and Lakeville. Then vote for your favorites—ballots are available at the Salisbury General Store, White Hart Inn, and Grassland Dessert Cafe. Cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 for winners of two categories: Individuals & Families and Schools & Non-Profits. A trophy will be awarded to Best Business Scarecrow. 12th Annual Quilt Show
Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10 - 10 am - 4 pm - Salisbury Congregational Church
Admire the many beautiful quilts draped over the pews throughout the church. All quilts are welcome in the exhibit -- whether made by you or a relative, purchased or received. Please bring your quilt(s) to the church from October 6-8 between 10 am and 2 pm. Cards will be available to list your name, contact information, and each quilt's "story," such as its design, its quilter, and how it was acquired if known.

Hay Ride and Wreath Sale
Saturday, October 10 – 10 to 3 pm
Enjoy an old-fashioned hayride! $5 Adults, $2 Kids. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Wreaths can be purchased at the hay ride table or from any 8th grader with a clipboard. All proceeds go toward the SCS 8th grade class trip to Washington, DC.

Sunday, October 11 - 1 pm to 4 pm - Ski Jumps behind Salisbury
Sharing a beer with friends, co-workers, and family is one of America’s most beloved pastimes—right up there with debating the best burger topping and pretending you can identify “notes of citrus” in a hard seltzer.
This fall, Connecticut beer lovers can put those skills to good use at the 16th Annual Brew-Ski Fest, happening Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Satre Hill, 80 Indian Cave Road in Salisbury.
With 20+ craft breweries and 100+ beers, ciders, hard seltzers, spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails from across the country, there’s plenty to sample. The tasting goes on rain or shine, because a little New England weather has never scared off a good time.
Live music from the Steve Dunn Band will keep the afternoon moving. The band, winner of Mohegan Sun Casino’s Battle of the Bands and a 2021 Telly Award nominee, will provide the soundtrack for an afternoon of sampling, socializing, and suitably enthusiastic fall fun.
No Brew-Ski Fest would be complete without the wonderfully unconventional Ski Jump Golf Ball Roll. Guests can purchase a numbered golf ball, then watch hundreds of hopeful little spheres tumble down the ski jump landing hill. Like a ski jumper chasing distance, the ball that travels farthest wins a prize.

Don't miss the Pet Parade! Don't have a dog? Bring your turtle, goat, pig, cat, or any other pet with or without a costume. All pets must be leashed or otherwise contained by you. Following a short parade, prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories.
